A Wheeling center college become located under lockdown after reports of a gun within the building Tuesday.
Chopper 2 become over the middle school Tuesday afternoon. Classrooms have been in the end brushed off separately.
Police trust it became an airsoft or BB-style gun and say there’s no active hazard.
The following message was released by the Superintendent of School District 21 regarding the incident at Holmes Middle School. WPD and District 21 are working together to ensure the students, staff, and community remain safe.

Classes will resume Thursday with counselors to assist all students and group of workers.
There is no faculty on Wednesday for the Yom Kippur vacation.
